Wet weather and cold conditions in the state of Virginia has wiped out a pair of Canisius College softball non-conference doubleheaders, Canisius head coach Mike Rappl announced today.

The Golden Griffins were scheduled to play two non-league twinbills at Hampton Feb. 19 and Norfolk State Feb. 20, but all four of those games have been called off. There will be no make-up dates for any of the games.

The Griffs are 1-3 on the year after opening the 2012 campaign Feb. 10-11 at the ECU Pirate Classic in Greenville, N.C. The Blue and Gold's final game of last weekend's tournament against Drexel was called off on Feb. 12, because the wind chill factor registered around 10 degrees.

Canisius will be back in action March 2-4 when the team takes part in the UMBC Retrievers Classic in Baltimore, Md.
