Kim Griffin was formally named the second head coach in the history of the Canisius softball program on Sept. 29, 2014. She took over for Mike Rappl, who served as the Golden Griffins' head coach for 36 years before announcing his retirement July 28, 2014.
In her first season at the helm of the softball program, Griffin earned MAAC Coach of the Year honors after helping lead the Blue and Gold to a 26-19 overall record and a 15-5 mark in league play.
Former Syracuse pitcher Jocelyn Cater is entering her first season as the Golden Griffins' pitching coach. Cater pitched for the Orange for three seasons, where she earned 26 wins and 365 strikeouts in 67 career appearances.
Ray Hennessy is entering his fourth season as an assistant coach on the Canisius softball staff. A former assistant baseball coach at both Mercyhurst (1988-91) and Erie Community College (1991-93), Hennessy brings a wealth of softball knowledge to the Canisius staff.
