Three members of the Canisius College women’s basketball team were named to the 2015 MAAC All-Academic team, announced on Friday, as sophomores Lauren D’Hont and Tamara Miskovic, and junior Jasmine Mungo, received the honor. This is the first time D’Hont and Miskovic have earned the award, while it's the second-straight season Mungo has been named to the team.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
All three players were key components to the Griffs run this season as both D’Hont and Miskvoic saw action in every game this season, while Mungo played 27 and started in 22 contests.
Mungo was fifth on the team in points per game with a 5.3 mark while D’Hont averaged 3.8 points per game and Miskovic was third on the team in total assists with 58.
Canisius was bounced from postseason play by Monmouth on Thursday, as the No. 8 seeded Griffs, lost to the No. 9 seeded Hawks, 68-56 in the first round of the MAAC tournament at the Times Union Center, in Albany, N.Y.
