The Canisius baseball series against James Madison University this weekend has been adjusted thanks to winter weather, which is expected to hit Harrisonbug, Va., late this week. The Griffs will still play four non-league games against the Dukes but Friday’s contest has been switched to Monday.

The Blue and Gold’s weekend, which was slated to start on Friday, March, 8, will now kick off with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 9. Those games are slated for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. Sunday’s game remains a 1 p.m. start, while the Griffs will now play on Monday, at 1 p.m.

Canisius is 5-5 on the season after going 1-2 last weekend, which snapped a three-game winning streak. The Griffs started with a 10-3 win against UNC Ashville but dropped the remaining contests of the weekend, falling to George Mason 13-3 and Delaware 5-1.

Ryan Stekl continues to be an offensive catalyst for the Griffs as he leads the team in batting average (.462), slugging percentage (.513), and hits (18), while Jack Massa paces the team in RBI with 11.

Alex Godzak, leads the pitching staff in wins with two, while J.P. Stevenson owns the top ERA on the squad (2.31) and best opposing batting average (.156) on the staff so far this campaign.
