1. What is the best part about being a Golden Griffin?
The best part of being a Golden Griffin is to have the opportunity to represent a school on the road and at regattas for rowing that I am so proud to be attending as a student. Canisius is an institution that produces great leaders and the chance to represent that as a student and athlete is wonderful.

2. What is your favorite moment as a Canisius student-athlete?
I have to say representing Canisius Rowing in its first-ever MAAC appearance in the V8 last season will be something I will cherish forever. As a racer though, my favorite moment was this past fall at the Head of the Genesee. It was great to see the improvements in our boat speed as we raced with Duquense and to show marked improvement as we raced UB for the second time since our opening week race. The exhilaration that came with the threat of danger helped too!

3. If you could pick anywhere to row in the world, where would it be? Why?
Douro River in Portugal. I love to travel and I have seen pictures of this river in travel magazines- it looks glorious. It will take a lot to top rowing in sunny Tampa, Florida for spring training and in Sarasota at the FIRA, though!
4. What is currently on your erg playlist?
"Pardon Me" by Incubus. Incubus is one of my favorite bands to listen to for workouts. Powerful lyrics and awesome rock/funk riffs.

5. What is your favorite part of the city of Buffalo?
The waterfront: the Black Rock Canal and our beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright boathouse. I also love summer days of boating, fishing and Thursday In The Square concerts. This city is on the rise!

6. What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Competitive, Intuitive, Passionate.

7. What TV show are you currently addicted to?
I love to watch Suits on USA and The Bible series on the History Channel.
8. Why did you choose to attend Canisius?
I chose Canisius because of the wonderful things I had heard from friends and family. The small class sizes also interested me as I wanted a very personal educational experience.

9. What is your favorite quote or phrase?
"The beginning of a habit is like an invisible thread, but every time we repeat the act we strengthen the strand, add to it another filament, until it becomes a great cable and binds us irrevocably thought and act." -Orison Swett Marden

10. Do you have a pre-race routine or ritual and if so, what is it?
When I played hockey, the simple act of taping my stick before games would relax my mind and get me ready. I have found that preparing for a race in rowing is a very different, much more intensive process. I prepare by thinking of the pain I know I will be going through during the race, but how fleeting it will be and how crucial it is to seek new thresholds each time I race. I also remind myself how fortunate I am to be able to be an athlete and to be healthy, so I think about pulling for all those who are not and that gets me really pumped.
