A graduate of Canisius College, Mike Ziemer returns to his alma mater as assistant athletic trainer. His primary responsibilities with the Griffs will lie with the hockey and rowing programs.

Ziemer returns to Buffalo after spending two-plus years at St. Lawrence University. With the Saints, Ziemer worked directly with the women’s hockey, softball and field hockey programs.

Prior to his time with St. Lawrence, the Hamburg, N.Y. native served as a graduate assistant at Marshall University, where he worked with the football, men’s soccer, baseball and track and field teams. Ziemer also served as an intern with the Buffalo Bills in addition to working as a student trainer during his time at Canisius.

Ziemer earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Canisius in 2010 and his master’s from Marshall in 2012.
