The Canisius College golf team closed out the 2009 fall season by finishing 12th at the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Course in Ithaca, N.Y. The event, which was originally scheduled for 54 holes, was shortened to a 36-hole event after steady rain on Sunday made the course unplayable.  MORE

The second round of the Cornell Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y., was suspended due to darkness Saturday evening with 79 players still on the course. The field will wrap up the second round Sunday morning and then close out the 54-hole event later in the day. Canisius shot a team score of 319 in the first round and sits in 12th place overall. Binghamton took the early lead on Saturday with a team score of 295.  MORE

The Canisius College golf team combined to shoot a final round score of 296 and senior Drew Creighton fired a one-over par 71 as the Golden Griffins took second place at the Bucknell Fall Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa., Saturday morning. The host Bison shot a team score of 298 in the final round and won the event with a 54-hole total of 865, besting Canisius' 872 total.  MORE
