12/04/09 - Women's Cross Country
Junior Maura Frauenhofer competed in the Delaware YMCA Annual Turkey Trot over the holiday, finishing first among over 6,000 women. It is the second year that the top female finisher was represented by the Canisius cross country team, with assistant coach Aileen Hoak running to first place in last year's race.  MORE

11/15/09 - Women's Cross Country
Storms and weather conditions hindered the Canisius cross country teams as they competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional competition in Boston, Mass. Saturday afternoon in the final race of the 2009 season. Junior Maura Frauenhofer led the women, finishing in 86th place in a scoring field of 277 as the Blue and Gold placed 28th among 32 teams. Vasilis Kariolis led the men as he finished in 186th place in a 231-wide scoring field as the Griffs finished 32nd of 36 teams.  MORE

10/30/09 - Men's Cross Country
The Canisius College women's cross country took third overall while the men's squad took seventh place at the 2009 MAAC Cross Country Championships, held Friday at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, N.Y. The women's third-place finish is the best for the program since 1997.  MORE

The Golden Griffins are set to race at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City Friday afternoon at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Championship. The women's 5k race is set to begin at 2:00 p.m., while the men will race at 2:45 p.m.  MORE
