Mike Szyprowski

Mike Szyprowski enters his fifth year as the assistant swimming coach at Canisius College. Before assisting at Canisius, he coached with the Town of Tonawanda Titans. He currently continues to serve as the assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach for the Titans.

Szyprowski is a USA certified level II swimming coach, trained in CPR, AED, lifeguarding, and safety for swim coaches. In his experience with the Titans, he has created strength programs for individual swimmers at the high school and collegiate level, coached groups ranging from 25 to 60 swimmers, and coordinated multi-level practices in order to accommodate various age groups and abilities.

Szyprowski was a competitive swimmer through high school and college, competing at the University at Buffalo. Szyprowski also competed for the Town of Tonawanda Titans from 1996 to 2007 as both an athlete and an assistant coach under head coach Scott Vanderzell.

Szyprowski earned his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo in histor, graduating in 2003.Most recently, Szyprowski completed his master’s degree in secondary education with a concentration on social studies from Niagara University in May 2008.

Szyprowski is currently a substitute teacher for grades six through 12 in the Lewiston Porter Central school district.
