Canisius used a six-point run on the serve of Podlesh and a five-point run from Godfrey’s serve to build a 14-10 lead. The Peahens got as close as one at 19-18 after a kill from Kelly Blanchfield. The Griffs closed out the set winning six of eight points, capped by a kill from Adams.

The teams played a spirited third set, with Saint Peter’s holding the lead for a majority of the set. The Peahens opened up a 10-9 game with a 9-4 run to build a 19-13 lead. Canisius came back by winning six of seven points to make the score 20-19 on a kill by Adams. Saint Peter’s would regain the momentum to go up 24-22, but the Griffs would win the final four points of the match to close it out.

Blanchfield led Saint Peter’s (12-16, 6-8) with 13 kills and a .550 attack percentage. Caroline Garvey had 30 assists while Kim Mendoza led the Peahens with 14 digs.
