The Griffs broke open the second set by scoring five consecutive points midway through, to extend a 10-9 lead into a 15-9 advantage – a run that included two kills from Good. The Broncs would cut the Canisius lead to one point on five separate occasions, but a kill from Michelle Godfrey closed out the set.

Rider (3-16, 1-7) took control of the third set by using a 7-1 run to turn a 16-15 Canisius lead into a 22-17 Rider advantage. The Broncs won the set on a kill from Brittany Hayes.

The Griffs used a 10-3 run in the fourth set to build a 19-9 lead, which included three kills from Lettow. Rider scored three straight points late in the set to make it 24-16, but a Rider error clinched the match for the Griffs.
