Canisius to Host Fall/Winter Baseball Clinics

The Canisius College baseball program will be hosting a number of baseball clinics at the Koessler Athletic Center in the upcoming months. Each camp is instructional-based and designed to increase the campers' skill levels.

The schedule of the camps is:
  • Elite Hitting Camp: November 7, 14, 21— $130
            Session 1: 6 pm to 7:30 pm
            Session 2: 8 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Elite Pitching and Catching: December 5-6 (Overnight) — $230 or $195 for commuters
  • Holiday Break Camp: December 27-29 (1 to 5 pm) — $100
  • Winter Hitting Clinics
            Saturdays: January 30, February 6, 13 — $100
            Sundays:  January 31, February 7, 14 — $100

The Canisius baseball program has won 77 games the past two seasons, the most by a school in the Northeast. The win total of 77 ranks 26th across the country. Canisius is the only team in the Northeast region to win 35-plus games each of the past two seasons. Canisius won the MAAC regular-season title in 2008 and advanced to the title game of the 2009 MAAC Championship for the first time in program history.

During the past two years, Canisius has had four players with the program selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. Canisius has also had two All-Americans, eight first-team all-MAAC Selections, six second-team all-MAAC selections, the 2009 MAAC Player of the Year, the 2008 Anaconda Sports MAAC Coach of the Year, 2008 MAAC Rookie of the Year and 2008 MAAC Pitcher of the Year.
