Canisius College's Select-a-Seat Day, an event established to allow season ticket holders the opportunity to purchase season tickets and pick their seat for the upcoming basketball season, will be held in the Koessler Athletic Center on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 1-3 p.m.

Golden Griffin fans will be able to experience a real gameday feel at this year's event, with the Canisius Pep Band, cheerleaders, Dance Griffs and pre-practice introductions prior to the men's basketball team taking to the floor for an intrasquad scrimmage.

Season tickets for the combined 26-game home schedule are currently on sale at the ticket office in the Koessler Athletic Center and include all men's and women's games. Reserved seats are $140 for the general public and $100 for Canisius College faculty, staff and administration. Included in the package is the men's basketball game against Fairfield in the HSBC Arena, which is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at 4:30 p.m.

The Canisius women's program returns two starters and seven letterwinners from the 2008-09 campaign that went 24-9 and qualified for the WNIT for the first time in program history. The Blue and Gold is set to open the home portion of this year's schedule against long-time rival St. Bonaventure Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The men's team returns all five starters and nine letterwinners from last year's team that went 11-20 overall. The men's squad will host its 2009-10 home opener Saturday, Nov. 28, at 3:15 p.m., when the team meets Howard in the backend of a basketball doubleheader. On that date, the Canisius women will host Binghamton at 1 p.m.
