The Golden Griffins return to the pool today after almost a
month since their last meet as they prepare to compete against St. Bonaventure at
3:00 p.m. today.
The Griffs last competed on Nov. 21 in conference play against
Iona College, when sophomore Erica Vitale and freshman Annelise Gunn-Taylor set
season-best times in their events. Four swimmers on the men's team also set
personal or lifetime-best times, including freshmen Rob Novak, Matt Moessinger
and Tyler Carver and junior John Morphis.
In the 2008 meet against the Bonnies, now-sophomore
Stephen Pochatko took first place in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard
backstroke as the Griffs finished with 62.5 team points in the loss. On the
women's side, now-sophomore Julia Terrien finished in first place in the 100-yard
breaststroke and the 100-yard freestyle as the women lost 71.5-139.5 at home.
The Blue and Gold will travel to the Bonnies pool for the
first time since the 2007 season. The meet is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
