*James H. Hutch '38 -Athletic Trainer, 1921-28, 1937-1941, 1947-1957 James H. Hutch or "Jimmy" as he was commonly known to the players, was the athletic trainer for Canisius teams from 1920 until his death in 1959. Except for an absence of a few years from the Golden Dome, when he went to work under Jim Peele at U.B., Jimmy was the man the players came to see for aching muscles as well as fatherly advice. In addition to his Canisius duties, Mr. Hutch devoted 30 years to the Buffalo Bisons and several seasons to Buffalo hockey and professional football. As of 1926, the Griffs suffered no serious injuries due to poor physical condition the previous six years.
