Canisius used a 9-3 run to take a 10-6 lead in the first set, getting a service ace from Brawn and kill from Davis to take the four-point lead. Loyola tied the match at 16-16 on a kill from Nicole Sarby, but the Griffs scored five of the next six points, capped by the fourth kill of the set from sophomore Emily Elek to take a 22-18 lead.
