Canisius College women's soccer head coach Jim Wendling announced the addition of
nine players to the Golden Griffin's program for the 2011 season this week. The class features players from New
York, Ontario and Virginia.
Joining the Griffs for the upcoming campaign will be Katelyn
Chamberlain (Brownville N.Y.), Mallory Illsley (Binghamton, N.Y.), Brigid St.
Leger (Cazenovia, N.Y.), Meghan Lipinoga (North Tonawanda, N.Y.), Megan Mahoney
(Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Maria Nelms (London, Ontario), Jenny Piaggione (East
Amherst, N.Y.), Elizabeth Reinwald (Stafford Virginia) and Emma Pastori (Jamaica Estates, N.Y.).
"This class brings our team a high level of athletic
ability, great goal scorers, excellent midfield possession players and tough
defenders," Wendling said. "They will bring a wealth of talent and all have
those wonderful soccer attributes which will add great depth to our already
talented squad."

Soccer Honors/Awards: A two-sport athlete for the Immaculate Heart Cavaliers
(Soccer and Lacrosse), Chamberlain was a First-Team All-Star for the 2008, 2009
and 2010 seasons. The forward from Brownville, N.Y. also was named First-Team
All-Central New York in 2009 and 2010 while earning Frontier League MVP status
in 2010. She finished up her senior campaign tallying 25 goals and 6 assists.
Chamberlain also participated in the 2008 and 2010 Empire State Games.
Mallory Illsley

recorded 93 goals in her five year career with the Chenango Forks Blue Devils.
A three-time All-Conference player, Illsley earned 2010 Second-Team All-State
honors. The Binghamton, N.Y. native was a seven-year participant on her club
team the BC United Fusion while she played six years for ODP. Illsley also was
a letter-winner in track and field where she was sprinter for the Blue Devils.
Brigid St. Leger

three-year varsity starter for the Chittenango Bears, Leger graduates with a
0.78 goals against average and 12 shutouts in her final season. In her senior
campaign the Bear's goalkeeper earned All-Central New York First Team honors
while being named to the Section III Class A First-Team and the OHSL Freedom
League First-Team. Leger led her club team, the Syracuse Blitz to the 2010 New
York Wet State Cup Championship.
Meghan Lipinoga

five-year letterwinner for the North Tonawanda Lumberjacks, Lipinoga has been a
three-time team captain from 2008-2010 and a team MVP from 2007-2010. Lipinoga
was also a four-time All-Niagara Frontier League selection as well as a first-team
All-Metro player from 2007-2010. The back for the Lumberjacks was named to the
first-team All-Western New York in 2010. Lipinoga is also the team captain for
her club team the Empire United, while leading them to the State Cup
Championships in 2009. North Tonawanda native ran as a sprinter on the track
and field team for the Lumberjacks.
Megan Mahoney

midfielder and forward for Roy C. Ketcham high school, Mahoney was named All-League
during the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons. Mahoney finished her senior campaign
with 9 goals and 14 assists and was named Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star. An
accomplished track and field athlete for the Indians, Mahoney holds school
records in the 400, 600, 4X400 relay, 2X400 relay and spring medley relay.

the women's and U21 teams won the OWSL Championships in 2010. Nelms was a dual-sport
athlete for the Spartans participating on the high school's cross-country team.
Jenny Paggione

defender for the Williamsville North Spartans, Piaggione was named to the 2009
and 2010 ECIC first-team as well as the 2010 All-WNY First-Team and capping it
off with a 2010 All-State Third Team nomination. Paggione served as team
captain for the Buffalo Soccer Academy and was a tri-sport athlete
participating in soccer, lacrosse and basketball for Williamsville North.
During her time on the basketball court she was named to the 2010 basketball
ECIC Second Team.
Emma Pastori

Academy Penguins, Pastori helped lead to the team to a City Championship in 2007 and
a City Championship runner-up in 2008. Named a team captain in 2010 she earned
Scholar Athlete accolades and recorded six goals and eight assists. Pastori was
a dual-sport athlete with the Penguins also participating in track and field.
She serves as team captain for her club team the HBC Jaguars. Pastori also
excels in the class room as she is a member of the National Honor Society and
Latin National Honor Society.
Elizabeth Reinwald

twice. Reinwald, her team's captain, tallied 13 goals and 14 assists during her freshman through junior
seasons. Reinwald is the sister of Kelly Reinwald who will be a senior captain
during the 2011 campaign.
