Senior goalkeeper Allison
Daley of the Canisius College women's lacrosse team
became the first player in the program's history to collect IWLCA All-Region
accolades, earning second-team All-West/Midwest Region honors.
A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Daley anchored the Canisius
defense throughout the 2011 season, leading the Golden Griffins to their first
MAAC title. The senior currently ranks seventh nationally with a .496 save
percentage to go along with a 10.27 goals against average.
A first-team All-MAAC selection for the second-consecutive
season, Daley finished her career in style. In the MAAC Tournament, she posted
a goals against average of 8.50 and a save percentage of .564 to lead the
Griffs to the title. In the championship game versus Fairfield, Daley recorded
13 saves in the 13-8 victory to earn Tournament MVP honors.
During her standout career, Daley was a three-time
all-conference honoree and earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades
in 2010. She also holds the school's record with 662 career saves, which
ranks second nationally among active players.
Daley, who is 1-of-12 goalkeepers nationally to earn
all-region honors, is now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-America
teams, which will be announced on Monday, May 30.
