Senior goalkeeper Allison
Daley of the Canisius College women's lacrosse team
has been selected to the IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game. Daley will
represent the South squad on June 11 in Downingtown, Pa.
The program's first all-regional selection, Daley earned
IWLCA All-West/Midwest Second Team accolades after anchoring the Canisius defense
throughout the 2011 campaign. The senior finished the season ranked seventh
nationally with a .496 save percentage to go along with a 10.27 goals against
average.
A first-team All-MAAC selection for the second-consecutive
season, Daley finished her career in style by leading the Griffs to their first
conference championship. In the MAAC Tournament, she posted a goals against
average of 8.50 and a save percentage of .564 to earn Tournament MVP honors.
During her standout career, Daley was a three-time
all-conference honoree and earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Year accolades
in 2010. She also holds the school's record with 662 career saves, which ranks
second nationally among active players.
Daley is the second Griff to represent Canisius at the
All-Star Game, joining former teammate Chelsea
Martinez, who earned an invite to the 2009 contest.
