Canisius College golf coach Todd Hummel announced today Pat Fahey (Buffalo, N.Y.) has signed his
National Letter of Intent and will join the Golden Griffins' roster for the
2011-12 season.
Fahey recently graduated from
Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School where he was honored as a three-time Monsignor
Martin Association All-Catholic player. In 2008, he teamed with current
Canisius golfer Joe Vogl to help the
Tigers win the All-Catholic Golf Championship at Harvest Hill Golf Center in
Orchard Park, N.Y.
Fahey was recently chosen from a
group of 250 nominees nationwide to represent The First Tee of Western New York
program at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach July 8-10. The
Nature Valley First Tee Open is an official PGA Champions Tour event that pairs
78 Champions Tour members with members of The First Tee Program in an event that
will be televised nationally on the Golf Channel.
Fahey is currently playing in the 59th
Annual International Junior Masters event at the East Aurora Country Club.
Later this month, the Buffalo native will take part in the 89th Annual
New York State Amateur Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
The son of Mark and Donna Fahey, he
plans on majoring in economics at the College. Canisius finished the 2011
spring season in fifth place at the MAAC Golf Championships in Lake Buena
Vista, Fla.
