JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Senior
Danielle Brawn and junior Samantha Good were named to the
All-MAAC Second Team at the postseason awards banquet held Friday night. Good
receives a postseason honor for the third time in her career while Brawn is
honored for the first time.
Brawn
leads Canisius, and is ranked fourth in the MAAC, with a 3.57 kills per set
average - the highest average by a Golden Griffin since the 2006 season. Brawn
has recorded double-digit kills in 22 matches this season and led Canisius in
kills 20 times in 2011. An All-Tournament Team selection at the La Salle
Invitational, Brawn has 368 kills as a senior after totaling 195 kills in her
first three seasons combined.
Good,
the 2010 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, earned All-MAAC First-Team honors
as a sophomore and All-MAAC Second-Team honors as a freshman in 2009. The
5-foot-10 middle hitter leads Canisius with a .290 attack percentage to go
along with a 2.36 kills per set average and 0.79 blocks per set average. Good is
averaging 1.02 blocks per set in the last 16 matches and is hitting .392 with a
3.04 kills per set average in the last seven matches.

Golden Griffins were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team - Brawn, junior Allyson Severyn and sophomores Emily
Elek, Sydney Palka and Jessica
Warner. Brawn receives the honor for the third year while Severyn is
honored for the second year.
The
No. 4 seed Golden Griffins face No. 1 seed Niagara University in the semifinals
of the MAAC Championship on Saturday, with match time set for noon. Fans can
