Brian Hennessy ('97)- A four-year letter winner for the Griffs' baseball program, Hennessy finished his career in the top ten all-time for doubles, runs scored, RBIs, batting average, on-base percentage, and steals among players who competed four seasons. As a freshman, he set a then school record of 53 hits in his first-year campaign with a .390 batting average. From these achievements he was awarded the New York State Division I Rookie of the Year, in addition to being named a Mizuno Division I Freshman All-American. As a sophomore, Hennessey was a 1995 First-Team All-MAAC honoree with a .267 avg., 3 HRs, 21 RBIs, 31 hits, and a .931 fielding percentage. Hennessy concluded his prolific career with a .335 avg., 104 runs, 162 hits, 13 HRs, 95 RBIs, 40 stolen bases, and 147 games played all of which still rank in the schools record books.
