The Canisius College golf team, fresh off its 10th-place finish at the Fourth Annual Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate event this past weekend, will return to the course on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when the Golden Griffins meet local rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure in the 58th playing of the Little Three Golf Championship at Harvest Hill Golf Course in Orchard Park, N.Y. Canisius enters this year's event as the tournament's two-time defending champion, having won the team portion of this annual Western New York event in 2010 and 2011.

The Little Three Golf Championship will feature two rounds, with the individual medalist earning an automatic berth into the 2013 Porter Cup event. Last year, St. Bonanventure golfer Brian McKenna shot 74-75 for a two-round score of 149 to win the individual crown. Canisius has never won three-straight Little Three crowns as a team. The last time the Blue and Gold won back-to-back tournament championships prior to 2010 and 2011 is back in 1956 and 1957.

This year's tournament will tee off at 8 a.m., at Harvest Hill, which is a par-72 course measuring 7,006 yards. This is the first time this event, which officially started in 1952, will be played at Harvest Hill.

There will be no live scoring for this year's tournament, but there will be updates throughout both rounds at Canisius' official Twitter site @GoGriffs. First and second round results will be posted as soon as scores become available at GoGriffs.com.
