Canisius freshman Andrew Romano matched a career-low with a 74 and senior Michael Carrig posted a 75 to earn a tie for fifth-place as the Golden Griffins closed out their weekend stay at the Bucknell Invitational in Lewisburg, Pa. As a team, the Blue and Gold took fifth-place with a team-score of 906 for the 54-hole event.
Romano took 14th place overall with his three-round tally of 227, while Carrig carded 221 for the 54-holes to tie for fifth, his second top-five finish this fall. Freshman Hunter Sagar shot 76 in the final round and ended up tied for 20th.
Lehigh won the team event with a three-round score of 887, while Bucknell "Blue" took second with a score of 898. Bucknell's Dan Bernard shot 76 on Saturday, but scored a 216 for the tournament to win the individual crown.
The Griffs will be back in action Sept. 22-23 at the Cornell Invitational in Ithaca, N.Y.
