The Canisius College men's lacrosse team celebrated its 2012 MAAC Championship during Alumni Weekend by receiving its title rings. The 2013 Griffs also turned its attention toward defending their title, playing against Dirty Lax in an exhibition.
Dirty Lax, which features seven NLL and MLL All-Stars in addition to four former Golden Griffin greats, earned the 21-2 victory against Canisius on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomores Brandon Bull and Tim Edwards both scored for Canisius, while junior Kevin Collins led the defense with four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Stephen Keogh led Dirty Lax with five goals, while Mark Matthews posted a team-best seven points on two goals and five assists. Former Griffs Simon Giourmetakis, Adam Jones, Kevin Ross and Matt Vinc combined for five goals and six ground balls in the winning effort.
