After erasing Siena's two-goal lead in their previous contest on Sunday, the Griffs were unable to this time around. In the final 14 minutes of regulation, the Griffs only managed one shot on goal by freshman Brittany Krause

Following a scoreless first-half, the Gaels struck in the first minute of play after the break. On the first play of the half, Iona jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 46th minute. With the Gaels attacking, Sali Ayinde fed Nicole Paulucci inside the six-yard box with Paulucci redirecting the shot in for the lead.
