The Canisius College Department
of Athletics announced today a new radio broadcasting partnership with Entercom
Communications to broadcast all Canisius College men's basketball games on WWWS
(1400 AM) in Buffalo, beginning with the 2012-13 season. The Golden Griffin
Broadcast Network will also continue to be streamed online at GoGriffs.com.
Jay Moran will once again provide the play-by-play call
for the Golden Griffins on WWWS (1400 AM), and the broadcasts will feature the
15-minute pregame show and the Ad-Pro Team Sports Postgame Show as
well. The first broadcast of the season is set for Monday, Nov. 12, when the
Griffs play host to Boston University in the 2012-13 regular-season opener.
"Being able to partner with WWWS (1400 AM) and Entercom Communications
is an exciting step forward for our fanbase, both locally in Western New York
and for those who listen to our games online through the Golden Griffin
Broadcast Network," Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher said. "We are thrilled to be able to add Canisius men's
basketball coverage to Entercom's great local sports lineup along with the
Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabres, the Buffalo Bisons and the Buffalo Bandits."
"It is the beginning of a new era for Canisius College
men's basketball with Jim Baron
taking over as the program's new head coach," Entercom Vice President and General Manager Greg Ried said. "We are excited to join
with Canisius for what should be a great ride."
