The Canisius College women's swimming and diving team will travel to MAAC opponent Siena on Saturday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center. The Golden Griffins will return action after two weeks away from competition.

In recent action, the Golden Griffin women dropped a 145.5-88.5 decision to Big Four rival St. Bonaventure on Oct. 26 in the team's homeopener at the Koessler Athletic Center.

For the Golden Griffins, the freshman continue to make their presence felt. In the Griffs' dual against the Bonnies, the freshmen trio of Clare Battaglia, Alex Doody, and Audrey Mulhisen led the team's efforts.

Battaglia continues to provide the Griff women with strong performances in the 200-yard IM and 200-yard backstroke. The freshman captured first-place finishes in the 200-yard IM (2:11.49), setting both the school record and the Koessler Athletic Center pool record. Battaglia also finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.74.

In addition to Battglia's record-breaking performance, Doody broke the school record in the 200-yard breaststroke in her second-place finish of 2:29.17.

On diving board, Mulhisen swept both the one-meter (219.67) and three-meter (213.83) diving events, while sophomore Taylor Epstein finished second in both events with a score of 192.37 in the one-meter and 195.52 in the three-meter.

Last year, the Golden Griffins hosted Gannon and Siena in a double-dual on Jan. 14 at the Koessler Athletic Center. Splitting the double-dual, the Golden Griffins captured their first conference win over the Saints, 74-39. Anna Schena secured the Golden Griffins' top-finish of the afternoon in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:56.42) followed by a first-place finish in the 200-yard fly (2:13.92). Marissa Oakey secured first-place performances in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.50) and 500-yard freestyle (5:10.94), which she set the pool record.
