Campus Chronicles with Ben Parker & Braeden Rigney

Having a Thanksgiving break last week couldn't have come at a better time for all of us. With homework pilling up before final exam time, it was nice to have some time away from the usual demands of a regular school day, where guys could just get some homework done....and sleep in. With just practice and workout being on the schedule each day, everybody was able to have some ample downtime. Logan Roe actually played Call of Duty- Black Ops 2 for 14 hours straight.

On Thursday, all of the Griffs went to Patrick Sullivan's house in Derby. The dinner was awesome and we all got too see some great pictures from Sully's childhood scattered throughout his house. Sully was a man-child. But seriously, it was nice to get away from campus and have a good meal with everyone. Big thanks to the Sullivans for having us over.

With Movember coming to a close in a couple days, I thought it would be a good time to give an update on the mustaches being worn around the dressing room. Currently, Tony Capobianco holds down first place by default (Taylor Law shaved his mustache off yesterday). I honestly think that I am in second place but I'm sure that's up for debate. Last place is actually being held down by a few Griffs. Doug Beck, Mitch McCrank and Stephen Miller all have nothing to show for a month's worth of no shaving. Their upper lips resemble the shine off a freshly polished hardwood floor. Good effort though guys.

It's pretty amazing how quickly the semester has gone by. I feel like final projects and exams should still be off in the distance. There's definitely no sleeping in or going to bed early over the next couple weeks, for all of us. As the semester nears an end, it seems as though our professors pile on more work. It really is amazing how many guys are in the library until it closes as exam time gets closer. I know everybody is thankful for the Tim Horton's that's located just outside of the library.

On Thursday, we travel to Connecticut to play the Huskies. It feels to me like we haven't played a road game in forever. Coming off a sweep of Air Force last weekend on home ice, I'm sure UConn will give us two tough games. With the amount of school work that we all have, coupled with our preparation for games this weekend, we all have our hands full. In saying that, I better get back to work.

Until next week, keep it simple,
Braeden Rigney and Ben Parker
