Freshman Brittany Krause of the Canisius College women's soccer team was named to the 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America High School Girls' All-America Team, as announced by the NCSCA office.

"We are very excited to have a player of Brittany's caliber on our team," said Canisius head coach Jim Wendling. "She was a top-notch goal-scoring player at the high school level, and we know she can bring out those qualities into her college game."

 In her freshman year, Krause started in five of the 16 contests she appeared in. Limited by multiple injuries, she finished the season with one goal and nine shots, including a .556 shot-percentage.

 "It is unfortunate that Brittany had to battle a series of injuries during her freshmen year that limited her abilities. But knowing of her great goal-scoring abilities, we look forward to her having a break-out sophomore year," stated Wendling of Krause's freshman year. "Brittany has excellent technical skills and a great hard shot with either her left or right foot."

A four-year letterwinner for head coach Michele Clark at Frank W. Cox, Krause scored 26 goals in her senior year. For her solid senior performance, the Virginia Beach, Va. native was selected All-Tidewater Player of the Year, Bill McFarland Memorial Female Athlete of the Year, and Outstanding Metro-Scholastic Women's Soccer Player. In addition, she was named first-team All-State, first-team All-Beach District, first-team Eastern Region, and team MVP. Krause also played for the Virginia Rush Nike Team of the ECNL, which won the 2010 Rush Sun Cup and 2009 Disney College Showcase Premier Championship.

Krause will be honored at the annual NSCAA All-America Luncheon on Jan. 19, 2013, in Indianapolis, Ind., held in conjunction with the 66th annual NSCAA Convention. In celebration of the best amateur players across the nation in 2012, she will joined by All-America honorees at the youth, high school, and college levels.
