Griffs Receive Votes In Collegiate Baseball Poll

For the second time in the last three seasons, the Canisius baseball team has received votes in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper 2013 Preseason Poll. Canisius also received votes prior to the start of the 2011 season.

Canisius posted a 33-27 record during the 2012 season, advancing to the championship round of the MAAC Championship for the third time in the last four seasons. Canisius returns eight starting position players, three weekend starting pitchers, including the 2012 MAAC Rookie of the Year, as well as the 2012 MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year.

Canisius opens the 2013 season with four neutral-site games at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, N.C. The Golden Griffins start play on Friday, Feb. 15, against the University at Albany. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
