Men's Basketball Featured on MAAC.TV Showcase

The MAAC and are teaming up to feature live broadcasts of two Canisius College men's basketball games, the MAAC recently announced. The Golden Griffins will be featured on the MAAC.TV Weekend Showcase on Feb. 2, when the team hosts Iona and then against Feb. 16, when the Griffs play at Saint Peter's.

"The six schools that form the MAAC.TV webcast network are pleased to enter into a 'Game of the Week' partnership with," Rich Ensor, Commissioner of the MAAC, said.  "The opportunity to extend the MAAC.TV brand into a broader national audience was a driving force behind this decision. has become a destination site for college hoops news, and it is great to be associated with their efforts to promote the game."

The MAAC has participated in the Postseason Tournament (CIT) since its inception in 2009, holding an 8-6 record in the event.  Fairfield University reached the semifinals in 2012, and Iona College finished in second place in the 2011 tournament.
"The MAAC was the first conference to embrace us back in 1996," said co-founder Angela Lento. "Our great relationship has continued to grow working with Rich Ensor and his staff and we are very excited about our latest project."

Canisius is 13-8 overall and 6-4 in MAAC play. The team will continue its three-game MAAC homestand Thursday, Jan. 31, when the Griffs host defending MAAC champion Loyola (Md.) in the Koessler Athletic Center. That game tips off at 7 p.m., will be broadcast on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel in New York State.
