CANISIUS STARTS ROAD STRETCH AT MANHATTAN

• The Canisius College men's basketball team starts a five-game road stretch tonight at Manhattan in Riverdale, N.Y. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
• The Golden Griffins are 15-8 overall and 8-4 in MAAC play after the team defeated Iona 77-74 on Feb. 2, in the Koessler Athletic Center.
• The win over Iona gives Canisius 10 victories at home this season, which leads the MAAC.
• Manhattan is 7-15 overall this season and 5-7 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

• Canisius' 15 wins by Feb. 2 are the most for the program since the 1985-86 team had 15 wins at the start of February.
• The Griffs' eight MAAC wins are the most for the team by Feb. 2, since the conference moved to its current 10-team format before the 1997-98 season.
• The Blue and Gold starts tonight's game at Manhattan ranked fourth nationally with 9.6 3-point field goals per game. Canisius has drained 37 3-pointers in its last three contests.
• As a team, Canisius ranks 12th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.0 percent. The Griffs are shooting 40.9 percent from long-range in MAAC games this season.

• Junior Chris Manhertz is averaging 12.4 points and 10 rebounds per game in Canisius' last five games. He ranks second in the MAAC in rebounding average with 9.0 boards per game.

ABOUT THE JASPERS

• Manhattan comes into tonight's game with a 7-15 overall record and a 5-7 mark in MAAC play after the team defeated Saint Peter's at home Feb. 3 by a score of 57-49.
• The Jaspers rank 10th in the MAAC in scoring average at 57.9 points per game, but defensively, the team ranks second in the league by allowing 62.6 points per game.
• As a team, the Jaspers are shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point land.
• Junior center Rhamel Brown is the team's top scoring threat with his 11.9 points per game, and he's also pulling down a team-high 6.9 rebounds per outing. He leads the MAAC and ranks 12th nationally with his 2.9 blocks per contest.
• Junior Michael Alvarado is chipping in 8.7 points and freshman Shane Richards is good for 7.3 points per game. Richards leads the team with his 45 makes from 3-point land this season.
• Manhattan has been without senior guard George Beamon this season. Beamon, who led the MAAC in scoring average during the 2011-12 season, played just four games this year before being sidelined with an ankle injury.

CANISIUS - MANHATTAN SERIES

• Tonight's meeting between Canisius and Manhattan is the 82nd contest between these two schools, with the Jaspers holding a 48-33 lead in the all-time series.
• The Jaspers swept the regular-season series from the Griffs last year, but Canisius has won four of the last six games between the two schools overall.
• Canisius is 6-20 all-time in Manhattan's Draddy Gymnasium, with two of those victories coming in the Griffs' last three trips to Riverdale, N.Y.
