Besides this being our last week of the regular season, it has been business as usual around the rink. Everybody shows up at practice ready to work their tail off, knowing the threat that our season could be over if we go into the playoffs unprepared. As most players will tell you about the playoffs, it's the best time of the year. I should really get off the hockey topic; best leave that to the guys that write about hockey.

This is senior week for the Griffs, where our five seniors will play their last regular season home game as a Griff. I figured that this would be a good opportunity for me to talk about what I'll remember about these five guys from the two years I've been here at Canisius.

Chris Barrea: The guy can flat out eat. First guy at the cafeteria, last to leave. Barrea does not socialize when there's food to be eaten, he's strictly business. Besides his ability to eat, I'll always remember Chris's great wardrobe. Barrea Swag. But seriously, he's an awesome guy and he'll for sure be missed around here.

Torrey Lindsay: The thing I'll always remember about Torrey is his mischievous doings around the 31 Hughes residence, earning himself the nickname, "Torrence." Another thing about Torrey is his always perfect hair. I know from rooming with him on the road that he actually doesn't put any work into it, it's just natural. He's one of our captains for a reason; he'll be missed around here.

Preston Shupe: The thing I'll remember most about Shupe is his long brown hair, much resembling Ryan Smyth of the Edmonton Oilers. One of my first memories of Shupe is the time I got breakfast club for falling behind on my study hall hours in the first week of my freshman year. I can tell you that Preston was less than impressed with me when he found out he'd be picking up garbage around campus at 6 a.m. Ha! Gotcha Shupe. Also one of our captains for a reason, hope to see him around in the years after he's gone.

Ben Parker: I'll always remember being in philosophy class with Ben where he and I shared a combined knowledge of very little. Turns out we weren't the pair of intellectuals we thought we were. Everybody will miss Parker.

Jordan Mustard: Always up for a good laugh. The thing I'll always remember about Musty is the love he shared with Taylor Law. The two have been pretty inseparable over their time here. The chirps that float between those two are really something to hear. Coach Mustard will be missed around here.

Everybody come out for Senior Day,

Until next time, keep it simple,
Braeden Rigney
