Three members of the Canisius College synchronized swimming team received All-American status following the U.S. Collegiate Championships on March 20-23 at the Avery Aquatics Center on the campus of the Stanford University. Claiming the honors were senior Victoria Mintz, junior Svetlana Ponkratova, and sophomore Viktoria Mironova, as announced by U.S. Synchro.
The delay in releasing the selections was due to technical problems, which prevented U.S. Synchro from making the announcement earlier. U.S. Synchro serves as the governing body of synchronized swimming across the country.
For the third straight season, Ponkratova and Victoria Mintz received All-American status. Mironova earned her first selection to the national list. As international student-athletes, both Ponkratova and Mironova received honorary status. In addition, Ponkratova captured a bronze medal in the A figures.
The duo of Mintz and Ponkratova went on to finish fifth overall in the duet routines for a score of 85.8000.
Mintz, Mironova, and Ponkratova were part of the Golden Griffins' team routine that finished fifth overall with a score of 87.0125.
