The Canisius softball team picked up another win during the fall season on Saturday, as the Golden Griffins shut out Monroe Community College by a score of 3-0 at Niagara's softball field in Lewiston, N.Y.
Sophomore Meghan Cuda went 2-for-3 win the win for the Griffs, while junior Michelle DelPrince also had two hits to go with two runs scored. Freshman Lindsey Silfer drove in two runs for Canisius, which improved to 3-0 with the victory.
Three Canisius pitchers combined to hold Monroe to just one hit. Senior Jen Consaul threw three innings and struck out five. Sophomore Jenn Solis tossed two scoreless innings and tallied three strikeouts before freshman Sarah Andrews closed out the game by allowing one hits to go with two strikeouts in two innings of work.
Canisius will return to action Sunday with a doubleheader at cross-town rival Buffalo. Game one is set to start at 1 p.m.
