Brian Swatland ‘98, MS ‘02 A four-year letterwinner as a defensive tackle, Swatland played in 39 games on the gridiron for the Golden Griffins from 1994-97. He racked up 149 tackles (86 solo) and he collected 17 sacks and 40 tackles for a loss. He was a key member of the 1997 defense that ranked 23rd in the nation in total defense and he finished that season ranked second on the team with 14 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks, which helped him earn All-MAAC Second-Team honors. An All-MAAC First-Team choice in 1996, he had a career-high seven sacks to go with 51 tackles in nine games.
