Hello All! Each week I write this little blurb, I hear about more people reading it. Of course that adds a little more pressure. But no pressure like what unfolded today. The women’s lacrosse team has decided to start writing their own version of a weekly campus chronicle. Therefore, this edition will be one of my best. Watch out girls.
We’re fresh off our last regular season road-trip of the year. The 8-hour drive east landed us in Springfield, Mass. for a pair of games against American International College (AIC). After a dominant first night, we let them dictate the play on Saturday. Although we had a strong third period, where it looked like things were going to end in our favor, the clock wasn’t on our side. It was a pretty somber ride home because we knew how much better we were than that team. We brought that sour taste into practice this week.
There are only eight games remaining in the season and they are all going to be battles. Starting this weekend, we have a home-and-home with Niagara. They stole a game from us earlier in the year and it’s going to be fun to return the favor on Thursday night in their building. We finish the season series with Niagara on Saturday (Feb. 8) night at the Buff States Sports Arena at 7:05 p.m. We hope to see you all there! It’s always an electric atmosphere in the building against the Purple Eagles.
On a side-note, it’s our favorite Italians Birthday this weekend- Ralph Cuddemi. Rumor has it he’s bringing close to 100 family members to the game. You’ll know who they are in the crowd. Trust me.
Make sure to check out the Video Chronicle for this week. We quizzed the freshmen from the team in a “Newlyweds” style game show. They know more about each other than I had imagined. The editors cut out the part where I asked them about their Valentines Day plans. Obviously it was a little too controversial for this time of year, sorry girls.
Thanks for reading! See you all at the game on Saturday!
