The Canisius College synchronized swimming team has won every ECAC Championship (16-straight) since the event began in 1998. The Griffs will look to continue that streak this weekend when they travel to Boston, Mass. to defend their titles.

Canisius enters the meet one-week removed from sweeping every category against Wheaton, one of its primary competitors, last week.

The Griffs saw senior Svetlana Ponkratova take first in the solo routine, followed closely by sophomore Laura Schmidt who took second. It was more of the same in the duet as sophomore Laina Gray and senior Jessica Mancini took the top-spot with a score of 85.73.

In trios, the group of Gray, Schmidt and Mancini finished first, with the squad of Mancini and seniors Morgan Lebrecht and Deanna DeSimone taking second just two points behind. The Griffs then took the team routine as well to close out the meet.

Canisius hopes for the same results this weekend when they compete on March 1-2 at Boston University.
