  • Canisius plays its first road series of the 2014 MAAC schedule at Fairfield University this weekend.
  • The Golden Griffins saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end in a 2-1 loss in 10 innings against the University of Akron on Wednesday.
  • The Griffs have swept their first two MAAC series and started MAAC play 6-0 for the first time since 2010.
  • Sophomore Alex Godzak was named the MAAC Picther of the Week on Tuesday, for the first time in his career. Canisius has won six weekly awards from the conference office this season, the most in the MAAC.
  • On Tuesday, Canisius was named the College Baseball Insider Northeast Region Team of the Week for last week.
  • Canisius has 10 road wins on the season. At the start of the week, that total tied for the third-most in the country.
  • At the start of the week, Canisius had eight players (averaging at least 2.5 plate appearances per game) hitting above .320 while the rest of the MAAC combined had seven players.
  • Since the start of the 2008 season Canisius has 235 wins, which is tied with Connecticut for the most in the Northeast.
