Two former Golden Griffins in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization have been rewarded this week for their strong play through the first two months of the baseball season. Sean Jamieson was named a South Division All-Star in the Southern League while Steve McQuail was called up to the Visalia Rawhide, the Advanced-A affiliate of the Diamondbacks.

Jamieson makes an All-Star team for the third time in his professional career as he earned New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star honors in 2011 and Midwest League All-Star honors in 2012. In 56 games with the Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Diamondbacks, Jamieson is hitting .286 with 35 runs scored and 21 walks to go along with a .977 fielding percentage at shortstop. A 17th-round pick of the Oakland Diamondbacks in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, Jamieson was traded to the Diamondbacks in 2012 for Stephen Drew.

McQuail spent 29 games with the South Bend Silver Hawks, the Class-A affiliate of the Diamondbacks before getting called up to the Rawhide. A 30th-round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010, McQuail hit .304 with six home runs and 20 RBI with the Silver Hawks. McQuail was signed by the Diamondbacks in the offseason after hitting .296 with 20 home runs for the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League in 2013.
