FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Senior Samantha Good (Rochester, N.Y.) received All-MAAC First-Team honors while senior Allyson Severyn (Lancaster, N.Y.) received All-MAAC Second-Team honors at the postseason awards banquet held on the campus of Fairfield University on Friday night. Good becomes the first player in program history to earn All-MAAC First-Team honors twice in her career while Severyn is named to the All-MAAC Second Team for the second time in her career.

Good, an All-MAAC First-Team selection in 2010 when she earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Year accolades, led the MAAC with a .369 attack percentage in conference play, which was the highest by a Golden Griffin since Mary Boller (.372) in 2006 and highest by a MAAC player since Katie Mann hit .392 in 2009. Good averaged a team-best 2.57 kills per set during her senior season and also led the MAAC with a 1.07 blocks per set average in conference play. A two-time MAAC Player of the Week, Good posted the highest attack percentage by a MAAC player in a match this season when she hit .667 against Saint Peter's on Nov. 4.  

Severyn, an All-MAAC Second-Team selection in 2010 when she earned MAAC Libero of the Year accolades, earned MAAC Libero of the Week honors a league-best four times this season. Severyn ranks second in the MAAC and 14^th nationally with a 5.69 digs per set average. The 5-foot-7 libero posted double-digit digs in all 28 matches this season and has a service reception percentage over 93 percent in 25 of the 28 matches. Severyn is the program's all-time leader and the MAAC active leader in digs (2,257) and needs 26 digs to break her own Canisius single-season record for digs.

Four Griffs were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. Severyn received the honor for the third time in her career while juniors Emily Elek, Sydney Palka and Jessica Warner also received the award.

The No. 3 seed Canisius volleyball team plays No. 2 Siena College in the semifinals of the MAAC Championship on Saturday afternoon. Match time at Alumni Hall is set for 2 p.m. Fans who will not be at Fairfield University can watch the entire MAAC Championship live on MAAC.TV.
