The Golden Griffins have won three straight and are 6-1 overall and 2-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play after the squad went on the road and beat Fairfield and Marist. The win at Fairfield Dec. 7, ended the program's nine-game losing streak to the Stags and the 94-82 victory over the Red Foxes on Dec. 9 improved the team to 2-0 in league play for the first time since 1997-98.

Canisius is led by senior guard Harold Washington, who is scoring 18.6 points per game while shooting 56.3 percent from 3-point land, which ranks fourth nationally. Junior Billy Baron ranks second on the team with his 17.7 points per game, and he's also dishing out 6.0 assists per contest as well. Canisius junior Chris Manhertz leads the Griffs with 8.0 rebounds per game, which ranks 95th in the nation. On Sunday at Marist, the Bronx, N.Y., native collected a career-high 18 rebounds as the Blue and Gold outrebounded Marist by a 51-32 clip.

Canisius will return to action Saturday, Dec. 15, when the team plays at No. 4/4 Syracuse in its first game of the Gotham Classic. Tipoff in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m.
