The Canisius College men’s soccer team returns to Buffalo to face MAAC foe Siena on Wednesday. The Griffs, who are 5-4-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in conference play, hosts the Saints at the Demske Sports Complex at 4 p.m.

• Three games into the MAAC schedule and it is evident that every point will count this season.
• Monmouth currently leads the conference with seven points. Canisius is then in a six-team tie for second place with four points, with Siena and Marist just one point behind with three points.
• Only the top four teams qualify for the 2013 MAAC Tournament this season, held on the campus of Fairfield.

• Wednesday’s game will feature the two schools that have scored the most goals in the MAAC this season and the teams will need to focus on multiple players.
• Both Canisius and Siena have scored a conference-best 17 goals this season.
• The key for both schools have been the number of players that have found the back of the net. Siena leads all schools in the MAAC with 10 different goal scorers, while Canisius is right behind in second with nine different student-athletes scoring.
• The Griffs have already had more players score this season then they did in 17 games last year (eight).

• The Griffs moved up two spots in the NSCAA North Atlantic poll to seventh.
• Canisius has reached as high as sixth in the regional poll on Sept. 3.

• In a series that dates back to the 1987 season, Siena holds a 14-10-1 edge against the Griffs.
• Canisius, however, has won seven of the last 11 meetings between the two schools.
• The home team has won the last six games in the series. Canisius was the last road team to win between the two schools with a 1-0 victory in 2006.
• Last year, Siena overcame a fourth-minute goal by the Griffs to earn a 2-1 win in Loudonville.

• Siena is 5-5-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in MAAC play.
• The Saints lost their most recent contest at Monmouth, 2-1.
• James Beeston leads the Saints with 14 points, five goals and four assists. Nathan Olukanmi ranks second on Siena with seven points on two goals and three assists.
• Adam Myers has started 7-of-10 games in goal for Siena. He owns a 5-2-0 record to go along with a 1.09 goals against average and .636 save percentage.
