For the second consecutive week and for the third time this season, junior Emily Litwin has been named the MAAC Libero of the Week.
Litwin averaged 5.17 digs per set in two Canisius sweeps to go along with 10 assists, three service aces and a 95.6 service reception percentage. Litwin posted 20 digs in the three-set sweep of Rider on Saturday, and then matched her career high with three service aces to go along with eight assists in the sweep of Saint Peter’s. The Griffs recorded kills on 20 of Litwin’s 45 service receptions on the weekend.
In conference play, Litwin leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at 4.91 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in 22 of the team’s 23 matches and ranks 57th in the country in digs per set.
On a season-long four-match winning streak, Canisius (10-13, 8-4 MAAC) opens the month of November with four road matches, starting at Iona College on Friday. Match time in New Rochelle is set for 2 p.m.
