QUICK HITTERS

  • The Canisius women’s basketball team wraps up its weekend road trip with Sunday’s game at Siena College.
  • Canisius and Siena are meeting for the first time this season. The teams will also play on Feb. 15, in the Koessler Athletic Center.
  • The Golden Griffins are playing their second of three road games in a span of six days.
  • Siena owns a 43-22 lead in the all-time series. The teams split the regular-season meetings last year, with each team winning at home.
  • The last Canisius win in Loudonville came on Feb. 8, 2009, in a 65-58 victory The Griffs have lost the four games between the teams in Albany.

NOTING THE GRIFFS

  • Canisius has shot 40 percent or better in nine games, including 46 percent in Friday night’s game at Fairfield. The Griffs shot 40 percent or better five times in 31 games during the entire 2012-13 season.
  • In the Dec. 29 game at Manhattan, senior Jamie Ruttle became the 21st player in program history to score 1,000 career points. Ruttle has scored in double figures a team-best 11 times this season and 54 times in her career.
  • Senior Jen Morabito ranks fifth in program history in career 3-pointers (190) and is tied for second in 3-point field goal percentage (37.2).
  • Senior Jen Lennox is third in the program’s Division I history with 96 blocks.
  • Since entering the starting lineup on Jan. 12, redshirt junior Courtney VandeBovenkamp is avearging 7.8 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 59.1 percent in 25.2 minutes per game.
  • Junior Kayla Hoohuli is one of two players in the MAAC to make a 3-pointer in 18 or more games.
  • Under Terry Zeh, Canisius is 46-31 in overtime games or games decided by five points or fewer — ranking as the best winning percentage (.597) in the MAAC since 2004-05. Canisius is 4-0 in such games this season.

SIENA SCOUT

  • Siena enters Sunday’s game with a 6-12 overall record and 1-8 record in the MAAC.
  • The Saints have lost six straight games, with three of the losses coming by four or fewer points. Siena fell 73-70 at Rider on Friday night.
  • Tehresa Coles leads the team at 9.2 points per game. The junior ranks fourth in the MAAC at 1.8 steals per contest.Freshman Meghan Donohue is third in the MAAC in field goal percentage (55.3).
  • Ida Krogh is seventh in the MAAC at 41.5 percent from behind the arc.  Five Saints have made at least 11 3-pointers but no one has made more than 22 3-pointers.
  • Siena is turning the ball over on 24.9 percent of its possessions, which is ninth in the MAAC. The Saints are forcing a turnover on a league-best 28 percent of its opponents’ possessions. The Saints are averaging a league-high 75.9 possessions per 40 minutes.
  • Second-leading scorer Kanika Cummings missed Friday’s game at Rider.
  • Siena leads the MAAC with a 36.5 offensive rebounding percentage and is 10th with a 65.1 defensive rebounding percentage.
  • Siena is allowing its opponents to shoot 48.3 percent overall on two-point shots and 53.7 percent on two-point shots in MAAC play.
  • Ali Jaques is in her second season as head coach at Siena. Jaques came to Siena after serving as the associate head coach at Northwestern.
