  • The Canisius College softball team starts the 2014 season indoors at the Cleveland State "CSU Dome Tournament" Feb. 8-9.
  • The Golden Griffins return 12 letterwinners, eight regular position players and two pitchers from last year's roster.
  • Canisius went 22-25 overall last year and 6-10 in MAAC play.
  • This will be the 35th season in Canisius softball history.


  • Canisius is starting its season indoors in Cleveland for the second-straight season.
  • Last year, Canisius went 8-5 in neutral site games, with three of those wins coming in the Cleveland State indoor event.
  • The Griffs return their top three hitters from last season, led by junior Robin Kennery. Kennery was named All-MAAC First Team after she hit .350 with 39 RBI and six stolen bases in 47 games a season ago.
  • Sophomore Meghan Cuda was named All-MAAC Second Team after her rookie campaign in 2013. The Lewiston, N.Y., native hit .346 with 10 doubles and a team-high 37 runs scored last year. She also had a team-high 14 stolen bases.
  • Junior Michelle DelPrince hit a career-high .315 for the Blue and Gold last year. She also tallied eight doubles, four triples and 16 runs batted in.
  • As a team, Canisius hit .287 and scored 202 runs.
  • Senior Jen Consaul went 15-12 with a 2.36 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 163.1 innings of work. The 15 wins and 109 strikeouts were both career highs for the North Chili, N.Y., native.


  • On Sunday, the 1994 edition of the Canisius softball team will join the school's Sports Hall of Fame. The 1994 team is the second female team in school history to be honored by the school's Hall of Fame committee.
  • The 1994 Griffs posted a 36-8 overall record en route to the 1994 MAAC regular-season and MAAC Tournament championship. The Griffs advanced to the 1994 NCAA Tournament and played top-seeded Arizona.
