Romano Ties for Third at Lafayette Spring Invite

Canisius sophomore Andrew Romano shot a second-round 72 for a 36-hole score of 146 to tie for third place at the Lafayette Spring Invitational, held at Silver Creek Country Club in Hellertown, Pa.

Romano shot a score of 72 on Sunday in the first round of the event, and the top-five finish is his second of the season. As a team, the Golden Griffins finished ninth in the field of 18 with a team score of 617. Freshman Cory Cullen tied for 31st with a two-round score of 155 and sophomore Hunter Sager tied for 56th with his two-day score of 158.

Longwood won the team event with a two-day score of 595. Four teams tied for seventh in the field at 616, one stroke ahead of Canisius. Drexel's Christopher Crawford won the individual title with his 36-hole score of 144, highlighted by his one-unde par score of 71 in the final round.

Canisius will return to the course April 14-15 when the team takes part in the St. Francis Red Flash Spring Invite in Johnstown, Pa.
