Junior Connor Panas has been voted to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Baseball All-Star First Team. The voting was completed by head coaches within the ECAC Division I Baseball membership, and includes teams from the ACC, America East Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Big East Conference, Big XII, Colonial Athletic Association, MAAC, Northeast Conference and Patriot League.
The honor adds to the collection of awards Panas has collected, including Louisville Slugger Second-Team All-American, Capital One Academic Second-Team All-American and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
A unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team, Panas posted a .362 batting average and led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with six home runs and 51 RBI. The Etobicoke, Ontario native also had a .574 slugging percentage and 16 stolen bases in 53 games. A two-time MAAC Player of the Week, Panas also earned Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week honors on May 5, after going 8-for-11 with three home runs and 11 RBI in a sweep at Quinnipiac.
The Golden Griffins have had nine players earn ECAC All-Star honors in the past seven seasons, with Panas being the first Canisius baseball player named to the First Team since Ian Choy in 2010.
