Comments on the Partnership
“We knew that HARBORcenter would quickly become a magnet for major hockey programs in this area,” said HARBORcenter President John Koelmel. “It is our intention to make HARBORcenter a hockey destination and an anchor of hockey development in this region. We are excited to partner with Canisius College and, with the resources HARBORcenter will make available, to further enable the development of their hockey program and to strengthen collegiate hockey in this region.”
"Atlantic Hockey Association is very excited for Canisius hockey today,” said Atlantic Hockey Association Commissioner Robert DeGregorio. “This is a tremendous step for the program and the college as a whole. As a league, we feel responsible to foster not only a high level of competition, but also the growth of the sport of hockey. We are proud to see Canisius' commitment to both of these objectives, and look forward to the continued growth and success of hockey at Canisius and in the Buffalo area."
"This is awesome,” said Canisius junior forward Matthew Grazen. “Being here today made the talk come to life. Carl [Larrson] and I were talking and we both got chills as they were describing the facility. This will help bring in more great talent to our program and I think this will give a real spark to the guys who will be playing here."
